Legal Notice – Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Tyre, Seneca County, NY at the Tyre Municipal Building, 1082 Gravel Road Seneca Falls, NY 13148, in the Town of Tyre, on November 7, 2019 at 6:35PM for the purpose of considering the contracting with the Magee Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., for fire protection to be furnished by said fire department, to the fire protection district established in said Town of Tyre, and known as the Tyre Fire Protection District, upon the following general terms, to-wit:

  • (a) The Fire Department shall answer and attend upon all calls in said fire protection district.
  • (b) The contract shall continue for one year.
  • (c) For such service the said Magee Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., shall receive and said Town of Tyre shall pay, the sum of ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS ($155,632.00) for the year.
  • (d) The said town shall be responsible to provide benefits for firemen under the Volunteer Firemen’s Benefit Law of the State of New York. (e) Such other incidental terms as may be necessary or proper in connection with such contracting.

All persons interested in the matter above shall be heard at the described time and place.

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that immediately following the Public Hearing described above, the Town Board may consider any additional business that is properly brought before it.
