NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 22, 2023

BY THE TOWN OF TYRE PLANNING BOARD REGARDING A PROPOSED MINOR SUBDIVISION APPLICATION FOR TAX PARCEL #15-1-24  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Town of Tyre Planning Board on August 22, 2023 at 6:30PM at the Town of Tyre Municipal Building at 1082 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, NY 13148, all for the purpose of hearing the public relating to an application by Charles Van Arnsdale to subdivide a parcel located at or about 1526 Route 414 with tax ID #15-1-24, such that it is divided into two parcels, one to comprise approximately 25 acres and the other to comprise approximately 2.4 acres and to include the existing residence.

COPIES of the application will be available for public review at the Tyre Municipal Building, 1082 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, NY 13148 during normal business hours and on the Town website by clicking here.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Tyre on the 17th day of August, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., at the Tyre Town Hall, 1082 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, New York, to consider the creation of proposed Water District #3.

SPECIAL TYRE TOWN BOARD MEETING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special meeting of the Tyre Town Board is scheduled for Thursday, August 3, 2023 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Tyre Municipal Building located at 1082 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, N.Y. 13148 in the Town of Tyre, Seneca County.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the purpose of this meeting is to hold a workshop and review the Town of Tyre Dog Kennel Law from 2015, as well as the draft Dog and Cat Breeding Facilities Law, in order to identify any desired changes.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that immediately following the workshop described above, the Town Board may consider any additional business that is properly brought before it.

            PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to Section 20 of the Municipal Home Rule Law and Section 264 of the Town Law, a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Tyre on August 17, 2023, at 6:35 p.m. at the Town of  Tyre Municipal Building, 1082 Gravel Road,  in Seneca County, New York, to consider the adoption of Local Law No. 5 of 2023 of the Town of Tyre, which would amend the Town of Tyre Zoning Law to provide regulations for the placement, design, construction, operation, monitoring, modification, and removal of battery energy storage systems.

            All persons interested shall be given an opportunity to be heard.  Local Law No. 5 of 2023 is available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Town Clerk’s office, by requesting an electronic copy by contacting the Town Clerk at townclerk@tyreny.com, or at the Town website at http://tyreny.com/.

TOWN OF TYRE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on July 20, 2023, following a public hearing at a regularly scheduled Town Board meeting held on July 20, 2023, the Town Board of the Town of Tyre adopted  Local Law No. 4 for 2023, known as the “A Local Law to Amend the Town of Tyre Zoning Law to Provide for Battery Energy Storage System Regulations.”  Local Law No. 4 of 2023 amends the Town of Tyre Zoning Law, to add new definitions to Article I for battery energy storage systems (“BESS”) and solar energy system regulations and amends the Zoning Law to add a new Section 100-77.2 to provide regulations for the review and approval of BESSs The purpose of this Local Law is to advance and protect the public health, safety, and welfare of Town of Tyre by creating regulations for the installation and use of battery energy storage systems, with the objectives taking advantage of a safe, abundant, renewable and non-polluting energy resources while mitigating the impacts of battery energy storage systems on adjacent uses and environmental resources.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Tyre on the 20th day of July, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., at the Tyre Town Hall, 1082 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, New York, regarding the adoption of a Local Law of the Town of Tyre for the year 2023 entitled “A Local Law to Adopt a New Defense and Indemnification Law”.  This local law would adopt a new Defense and Indemnification Law that would confer the benefits of section 18 of the NYS Public Officers Law upon the employees, as that term is defined therein, of the Town of Tyre, would have the Town agree to be held liable for the costs incurred under such provisions, and would have the Town agree to provide for the legal defense of any officer or employee of the Town in (a) any civil action or proceeding arising out of any alleged act or omission in which it is alleged that the officer or employee has violated the civil rights of the claimant, petitioner or plaintiff under sections 1981 and 1983 of the United States Civil Rights Act and (b) any criminal action or proceeding.

            Any person shall be entitled to be heard upon said proposed Local Law at such public hearing.  Copies of said proposed Local Law are available for review at the Tyre Town Hall, 1082 Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, New York.
