EXCESSIVE HEAT EXPECTED FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

The Seneca County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) reminds the public to take extra precautions and to stay informed about weather-related conditions.  We are expecting excessive heat on Friday and Saturday (7/19 and 7/20) with temperatures forecast to reach between 100 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit for the area.

As temperatures rise, we remind seniors to stay indoors, if possible, and for the public to be aware of the signs and symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion.  Children and the elderly are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion.  Everyone should stay hydrated, stay in a cool place and stay in touch with friends and family members who may need additional help.  For more information, please click on the link below.

Residents can take advantage of the Cooling Center located at the Magee Fire Department which will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. to provide County residents relief from the extreme heat.  The Magee Fire Department is located at 1807 State Route 318 in Seneca Falls and the department phone number is 315-568-8507.
